Does this Portion of Scripture Contain any Actions that I Should Take?

21 Ye have heard that it was said of them of old time, Thou shalt not kill; and whosoever shall kill shall be in danger of the judgment:

22 But I say unto you, That whosoever is angry with his brother without a cause shall be in danger of the judgment: and whosoever shall say to his brother, Raca, shall be in danger of the council: but whosoever shall say, Thou fool, shall be in danger of hell fire.

23 Therefore if thou bring thy gift to the altar, and there rememberest that thy brother hath ought against thee;

24 Leave there thy gift before the altar, and go thy way; first be reconciled to thy brother, and then come and offer thy gift.

Matthew 5:21-24

I have bolded and highlighted a portion of the passage above.

The action that we need to take here is obvious.

The "altar" was the PLACE where worshippers would meet God.

Your "altar" is the PLACE where you go to meet God on purpose.  Your heart is also a symbol of the altar, the place where the sacrifice was made to God.

The Action to Take?

If you are preparing to offer yourself or something that you have to God as an act of worship, and you are reminded that someone has something against you, go make it right with them and then come back to meet God.

If there is a problem in a human relationship and you have the power to reconcile it, make your best attempt to reconcile with your brother in order to have a clear conscience and clean soul to present yourself before God.

Otherwise, the "sacrifice" that you are wanting to offer to God may not be received ...
