The Law of Christ
Introduction to the The Law of Christ by Douglas E. Nevill, Sr.
By "The Law of Christ" I am referring to the four gospel accounts that are in our Bibles.
They are: Matthew, Mark, Luke & John, in that order.
Why four gospels?
I believe it is because each of the gospel writers emphasized some key trait in Jesus Christ that needed such treatment in order for us to get the "full picture" of the Law of Christ.
Ezekiel the prophet had a vision of the glory of God that is recorded in the first chapter of the book in the tenth verse.
"As for the likeness of their faces, they four had the face of a man, and the face of a lion, on the right side: and they four had the face of an ox on the left side; they four also had the face of an eagle."
The Four Views
- The face of a man
- The face of a lion
- The face of an ox
- The face of an eagle
So, we have four "views" of Jesus represented in the four different gospels, written from the perspectives of four different writers.
